This strategy works against BFX, but it will be a disaster against HLE or Gen.G — teams that rarely give T1 a chance to turn the game around. The story begins with a major change: Peyz joined T1 about 8 months ago. He is one of the best young ADCs today, with kill-securing ability that is nearly beyond debate. Proof: 6 pentakills — 3 times more than Faker's career total over 13+ years. Let me emphasize: this comparison is unfair. An ADC has sustained damage output and cleanup potential, unlike a mid laner who deals burst damage. But the number still reflects one truth: T1 puts Peyz at the center of every game. The strategy has its own logic. In the current meta, the ADC is the primary damage source in the late game. T1 puts the top laner in a weakside position with champions that do not require many resources, to funnel farm and gold to Peyz. This is a rational adaptation — in theory. The problem is: when Peyz cannot create a lead in items, T1 has almost no plan B. I have watched many T1 losses this season, both in the LCK and internationally, and the common thread is always the helplessness when Peyz is contained. The BFX game is a perfect example of that fragility. Peyz got a pentakill, Faker contributed damage with Yone, yet the win still had to come in game 5 against a mid-tier team. Doran — the top laner — made multiple mistakes that wiped away the advantages Peyz created. When a team plays weakside top, their mistakes are amplified because they have fewer resources to compensate. What concerns me most is T1's internal contradiction.
